Announcement of “13145 Series” FPC/FFC compatible connector that realizes weight reduction for electrified mobility

On May 7, 2025, IRISO (Headquarters: Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, CEO: Hitoshi Suzuki) announced the release of the FPC/FFC compatible connector “13145 Series.”

This product achieves miniaturization and weight reduction in automotive powertrains by replacing the cables used in conventional wire harness connectors with FPC/FFC.

Weight reduction is an important factor in many fields, as it directly leads to improved energy efficiency, cost reduction, and improved user comfort. Not only is it ideal for internal connections in automotive powertrains and connections between devices, where weight reduction is particularly important, but it also demonstrates excellent performance in fields such as aircraft, drones, and portable medical devices.

Conventional harness processing involves many steps such as crimping terminals, but FPC/FFC processing reduces the number of steps by simply inserting the connector into the housing.

Feature 3: Compliant with international standards

It has cleared the evaluation items of the European and American standard “LV214 (AWG24 2.5A)”, and reliable operation is guaranteed even in vibration environments.
