Announced "10128 Series" narrow pitch connector for Electric car powertrains

 
On June 12, 2020, IRISO (Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, CEO: Ikuo Yuki) announced a new lineup for its Z-Move structure ™ internal Board to Board Connector connector with resonance absorption capabilities. By adding a narrow pitch type to the lineup, which has been in high demand, Z-Move structure ™ series will meet the needs of our customers with even more variations.
The "10128 Series" connector is Board to Board Connectors for internal connection (0.8mm pitch, Floating in Z direction) developed for drive powertrain applications required for Electric car such as EV/PHV/HV as a result of the electrification of automobiles. It adopts our unique Floating structure technology "Z-Move structure ™" designed for use in severe vibration environments. The Z-axis Floating while the contacts remain fixed, making this connector highly resistant to vibration and shock.

Major features

Feature 1: Narrow pitch/compact size
In addition to the existing product lineup, we have added a 0.8mm pitch. Our unique "Z-Move structure ™" technology allows the contact to follow the resonance in the Z direction, absorbing circuit board resonance and providing high contact reliability. This prevents a decrease in contact reliability caused by micro-sliding wear. We also provide a service that performs our own vibration simulation, reflecting our past evaluation results. By working with our customers from the early design stages, we can propose more effective use.
 
Feature 2: High temperature resistance
Due to the increase in heat generation caused by the engines in in-vehicle equipment and the increasing sophistication of devices, connector products are also required to have high heat resistance. Our highly heat-resistant products, realized by utilizing our materials and design technology, can be used safely even in harsh high-temperature environments.
 
Feature 3: Two-point contact
The two-point contact provides a reliable connection even in environments where dust and dirt are likely to occur, by reliably removing foreign matter at the front contact. It can be used safely in devices that require high connection reliability.
 
Feature 4: Automation Connector
Robot assembly contributes to assembly quality, stabilization of production takt time, and reduction of labor costs, but process defects can occur such as adhesion of foreign matter, misalignment of mounting and Mating, incomplete Mating, etc. Therefore, IRISO has developed the concept of a connector suitable for robot assembly, "Automation Connector," based on the technology it has cultivated so far.
We propose products with a "Floating structure" function that absorbs misalignment of the board and a "two-point contact" function that removes foreign matter adhesion as "Automation Connector."
