What is a Floating Connector?

IRISO' "Floating Connector" is a general term for connectors with Floating structure Floating move between rows and in the pitch direction (X-axis-Y-axis) by providing a Floating spring part in the terminal.
Most conventional Board to Board Connectors are rigid (fixed) types that do not have a Floating spring section, and if the mounting position on the board is misaligned, they cannot be Mating. However, Floating Connector are equipped with a Floating structure mechanism that absorbs errors even if the position is misaligned, so they can be Mating normally.
The Floating connector absorbs misalignment of the board and reduces stress on the soldered parts, preventing poor contact caused by defects such as solder cracks.
