Announced the 11503 series FPC / FFC Connectors compatible with 25Gbps transmission for 5G communication equipment

On October 19, 2020, IRISO (Headquarters: Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, CEO: Ikuo Yuki) announced the release of the "11503 Series" FPC/FFC connector, which enables high-speed transmission of up to 25 Gbps in communications equipment such as 5G base stations.
It has a unique Auto I-Lock structure is hard to come loose, but easy to remove, and adopts a structure that locks at the same time as inserting the FPC/FFC card to prevent it from coming loose. It also has GND and takes EMC measures into consideration. The optimized contact structure supports transmission ranges up to 25Gbps.
In addition, a confirmation window has been added to the structure of the sister product 11501 series, which allows visual inspection of complete FPC/FFC insertion, contributing to more efficient assembly work.
 

Major features

Feature 1: Auto I-Lock structure ™
This series uses IRISO' unique "Auto I-Lock structure ™ *1" structure.
It eliminates the need to open and close slider cover and covers, and has a structure that locks the FPC/FFC card as soon as it is inserted, which reduces the risk of slanted insertion or incomplete Mating, improving work efficiency. (The lock is released by pressing the top of the lever.)

Feature 2: High Speed
The recent trend towards more sophisticated devices and an increase in the amount of information is spurring demand for high-speed transmission in connection components. In addition, the increase in high-frequency components in signals has created a situation in which attention must be paid to minute details that were previously not an issue. IRISO' high-speed transmission products are optimally designed by organically combining numerous field evaluations and simulations. This product achieves high-speed transmission up to 25Gbps by selecting a shielded FFC.
 
Feature 3: Usability improvement
This series follows the shape of its sister product, the 11501 series, and features an "FFC insertion detection window" and a "chin protruding shape" at the front for improved operability.
The detection windows are provided on both ends of the top of the connector, making it possible to visually check the FFC insertion position.
It is expected that the insertion check process will be omitted.
In addition, with conventional products, it was necessary to aim with pinpoint precision at the opening when inserting the FFC, but the 11503 series has a wider FFC receiving opening by deepening the cut at the opening and giving it a "protruding jaw" shape, and furthermore, a taper has been added to the top of Mating opening to make it easier to insert the FFC, improving the ability to guide the FFC in.
