Announced the concept of the "10143 Series" Board to Board Connectors which combines 16Gbps high-speed transmission with Floating structure

On October 20, 2020, IRISO, Ltd. (Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, CEO: Ikuo Yuki) announced the concept of the "10143 Series" Board to Board Connector, which combines 16Gbps high-speed transmission with Floating structure.
This is Board to Board Connector type "hybrid" connector concept that combines 16Gbps high-speed transmission with an unprecedented Floating Floating structure (±0.8mm Floating in the X and Y directions for a 0.5mm pitch). Equipped with power terminals that also function as fixing brackets on both ends of the connector, it achieves small-pole and compact connectors. It also contributes to reducing the overall size of the board.
We are currently preparing for mass production of this product, with the aim of commencing mass production in 2021.
 

Main Features

Feature 1: Floating
Floating structure Board to Board Connector Floating in the X and Y directions to absorb misalignment between boards, making it easier to adjust the alignment during multiple connections and relieving the stress concentrated in the soldering part. It also contributes significantly to improving Mating workability in combination with proper entry.
The 10143 series delivers Floating volumes beyond the pitch width. Floating 0.8mm in the X direction and Y direction.
 
Feature 2: High Speed
The recent increase in the functionality of devices and the increase in the amount of information are spurring the demand for high-speed transmission support in connected components. In addition, the increase in the high-frequency component of the signal has led to a situation where attention must be paid to even the smallest details that have not been a problem before. IRISO Industrial high-speed transmission products are optimally designed by organically combining numerous field evaluations and simulations. In addition, one of the major features is that it combines high reliability and workability through the fusion of Floating structure technology and high-speed transmission.
The 10143 series delivers the highest 16Gbps high-speed transmission in Floating structure Board to Board Connector history.
 
Feature 3: Power Contact
By placing power terminals with Floating structure on both ends of the product, there is no need to assign terminals for power supplies, which contributes to the micropolarization of connectors. This power supply terminal also serves as a fixing metal fitting, and the entire connector is miniaturized. This makes it possible to reduce the floor space of the connector board.
