IRISO Achieves 100% Renewable Energy for Electricity Consumed at All Its Business Locations in Japan

IRISO ELECTRONICS CO., LTD.(Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan, President&CEO: Hitoshi Suzuki) completed the switchover to 100% renewable energy for electricity consumption at all of its domestic offices*1 in July 2025. The switchover is part of the company's efforts to meet its greenhouse gas (GHG2*2) emissions reduction targets set in accordance with its environmental policy.

Overview

The company's emissions goal has been certified by an international corporate climate action organization, the Science Based Targets initiative *3.  We have set a science-based targets to reduce our Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 42% compared with the fiscal year 2023 level by the fiscal year 2030. By transitioning to 100% renewable energy across all domestic operations, we have been able to reduce CO2 emissions from purchased electricity. We aim to contribute to environmental sustainability while achieving our own goal.

*2 Greenhous Gas (GHG) refers to a group of gases contributing to climate change. Whether natural or anthropogenic, these gases are gaseous constituents of the atmosphere that absorb and emit radiation at specific wavelengths within the spectrum of infrared radiation emitted by the Earth's surface, atmosphere and clouds.
*3 The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a joint initiative established in 2015 by the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), and the World Resources Institute (WRI). It encourages companies to set their science-based GHG emissions reduction targets (SBTs) that contribute to limiting a rise in global average temperature due to climate change, as well as reviewing and certifying their targets.
