Dissimilar Metal Contact Corrosion

This is a phenomenon in which when dissimilar metals come into contact with each other in an electrolyte or the like, a current flows, and electrons are lost to the metal that is more important, causing corrosion. Also called galvanic corrosion. Even if it is not in the electrolytic solution, caution is required because corrosion progresses due to the contact of dissimilar metals in a hot and humid environment.
