SER/DES (SERializer/DESerializer)

SER/DES is short for SERializer/DESerializer and is a combination of two functions (chips): a serializer and a deserializer.
It is a method of serially sending and receiving several signals sent in parallel, which has the advantage of reducing the number of signal lines. On the other hand, the signal will be faster than the original one (hundreds of M~10Gbps). It is a method that is often used especially for image transmission, and VbyOne, TMDS (HDMI), LVDS, FPD-LINK, GMSL, GVIF, etc. are typical chipsets.
