STP (Shielded Twisted Pair)

An abbreviation for Shielded Twisted Pair, it is a shielded twisted wire structure. Usually refers to a structure with shields in each pair.
Shielding several pairs together is called FTP (Foiled Twited Pair) to distinguish it from STP.
This term was first used for Ethernet-based network cables, and is now being used for general purposes.
