Up to 25Gbps! Verification completed for high-speed transmission Floating structure Board to Board Connectors 10143 series "OIF CEI-28G-SR"

On August 24, 2021, IRISO (Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, CEO: Hitoshi Suzuki) has completed verification of its high-speed transmission Floating structure Board to Board Connectors "10143 Series" for next-generation applications, achieving a transmission speed of 25 Gbps in accordance with the "OIF CEI-28G-SR" standard.
As a result, the 10143 series achieves both high-speed transmission of 25 Gbps and Floating structure with Floating range of ±0.8 mm.In addition, by equipping both ends of the connector with power terminals that also function as fixing brackets, the connector can be made smaller and more compact, which also contributes to reducing the overall size of the board.
We are currently preparing for mass production of this product, with the aim of commencing mass production in 2021.

 

Major features

Feature 1: Floating
The Floating structure Board to Board Connector Floating in the X/Y direction and absorbs the misalignment between the boards, making it easy to adjust the alignment when connecting multiple and alleviating the stress concentrated in the soldering area. In addition, in conjunction with appropriate luring, it greatly contributes to improving Mating workability.
The 10143 series achieves Floating beyond the pitch width. Floating 0.8mm to X Y direction.
 
Feature 2: High Speed
The recent increase in the sophistication of equipment and the increase in the amount of information have spurred the demand for high-speed transmission of connected components. In addition, the increase in the high-frequency content of signals has led to a situation where we have to pay attention to minute points that have not been a problem in the past. IRISO 's high-speed transmission products are optimally designed by organically combining numerous field evaluations and simulations. The 10143 series achieves the highest high-speed transmission of 25 Gbps * in Floating structure Board to Board Connector history.

Feature 3: Power Contact
By arranging power supply terminals with a Floating structure at both ends of the product, there is no need to allocate power supply terminals, which contributes to miniaturization of the connector.
This power supply terminal also serves as a fixing bracket, and has made the connector as a whole smaller. This has made it possible to reduce the board area occupied by the connector.
